a current of verse, at times revealing
some deep-seated thought
which in prose would be lost
to both manner and form.
There is something to be said of poetic diction,
whether it be real or fiction,
it paints an image clear and pristine;
a feat any story would dare not dream
or hope to perform.
Whether in joy or in sadness,
in forgiveness or in madness,
the poet creates and gives spirit
to sonnet, elegy, or lyric,
and when it is finished exists forevermore.
Yes, it's a poem about poetry, just because I felt like being a bit cheesy.
